Cybersecurity Center for Offshore Wind Energy

Protecting Clean Energy Infrastructure

The wind energy industry is booming, but its reliance on complex interconnected systems creates new cybersecurity vulnerabilities. Our research center tackles this challenge head-on.

Our Mission

Our Approach

  • Design and develop a comprehensive testbed replicating real-world wind farm environments.
  • Identify potential vulnerabilities in wind turbine communication systems susceptible to eavesdropping attacks.
  • Identify vulnerabilities linked to eavesdropping attacks on offshore wind turbines (WT)
  • Emulate real-world WEF environments and integrate sensors and equipment to capture radio frequency (RF) and electromagnetic (EM) signals.

Benefits

  • Enhanced Security: Our research strengthens the resilience of wind energy infrastructure against cyber threats.
  • Data-Driven Defense: We create datasets to guide future cybersecurity efforts in the wind energy sector.
  • Industry Collaboration: We foster partnerships with industry leaders to translate research into real-world applications.
